Imagining a Trip to the Library

The first time I walked into a library, I got so excited I almost wet my pants.
~Roy Blount Jr., Author

I wish that every person saw the library this way. My children are always so excited to go the library. I remember when I was a kid, I was always so excited to go as well. Our local library is a great library with a million things to do. Of course, there are books, but we are also lucky to have puzzles, comfy chairs, a puppet stage, and great storytime activities. All things that help expand children’s imaginations.

As an adult, I still get excited to go the library. Well, except for those times when I’ve lost a book and have to pay for it. That’s not so exciting. But it is exciting to watch my children have a wonderful time. At the same time, I can browse all the magazines that I would never buy. It always amazes me that there are people out there who don’t make use of their public library. It’s such a wonderful resource for anything and everything you can possibly imagine.
