Picture Book Recommendation: CAMILLA, THE CUPCAKE FAIRY

“On Camilla’s fifth birthday,
the Pink Fairy Post
sent to Camilla what she
dreamed of most.”

A WAND! with SPARKLES! Who doesn’t love  a book that has sparkles? Ok, maybe there are some grumps out there who don’t like sparkles, but I’m not one of them. Camilla is a fairy who received the perfect birthday gift: a wand! Only  she doesn’t know what the wand does. And, then, when she figures it out, she can’t get it to work right. Not good. Who wants to have a mouse on top of their cupcake? EEK! Not me, that’s for sure.

The story has a fun rhythm and comic tone. Of course, I can’t forget to mention all the sparkly, brightly-colored illustrations that are perfectly geared for three-to-five year old fairies.

If you love sparkles, or even if you don’t, pair this book with Plant a Kiss, and follow it up by making Spring Cupcake Flowers that you can find over at TheIdeaBox.com.
