Picture Book Recommendation: PRESS HERE

My new favorite book, Press Here, is such an inventive, imaginative creation. I previously heard someone mention the book on Twitter. I think it may have been the person’s Perfect Picture Book Friday pick a while back. Since Press Here sounded interesting and I wasn’t quite sure what it was about, I requested it from my local library.

My advice to adults: read the book when no one is looking, because you’ll have so much fun following the directions you won’t want to share the book the first time you read it. After you’ve had your fun, take it to the little ones in your life and watch the excitement on their faces as they turn each page.

I picked up Press Here while the kids were in story time. My very adult self was pressing dots, shaking the book, and clapping my hands in the library’s children section. There was only one other family, and they weren’t looking at me, so I was only slightly embarrassed to be doing all this without my children.

Adventures of the Non-Creative Mom has a Press Here by Herve Tullet Play Date where the kids made artwork using all kinds of circles.

Scissors and Spice has a post on Bingo Marker Fun for Kids! To supplement this activity, why not grab a pad of paper and let the kids use the bingo markers to make their own Press Here style book.
